Welcome to the 2018 season and the 50th anniversary of Greystones Sailing Club . Planning for a
formal celebration of this milestone is well underway for June this year and we will advise well in advance of this and many other events recognising the clubs history.
2017 was another strong year for Greystones Sailing Club and there will again be no increase in annual subs. Our early bird discounts for subs paid before Feb 28th apply again in 2018 and are on the website now.
A big change for 2018 will be the midweek racing schedule with the dinghies sailing on Wed and the Keelboats switching to Thursday. This allows dinghy sailors to try out Keelboat racing without missing their dinghy sailing. It also allows many of our keelboat sailors to demonstrate their long claimed dinghy skills or keelboat crews that have not raced dinghies to give it a go. The club has 5 adult dinghies and intends to increase this to 9 for the 2018 season which will allow many members the opportunity to participate without purchasing a dinghy in advance.
We particularly welcome back or adult trainees from 2018 and will be in contact directly about some pre-season training and boat loan protocol.
We are delighted to confirm that Karl Brady will continue his role as Training Manager and SI for 2018 and is currently finalising a comprehensive schedule of programmes for both keelboats and dinghy sailors.
